New TSA's Regulations
Dear Valued Client,
Air Projects, along with every travel agency in our industry, has recently been contacted by the Transportation Safety Administration regarding their new policies and procedural requirements which will go into effect as of September 15, 2010. These requirements are for all passengers who have booked travel to, from, or within the U.S.. In an effort to make your future travel as smooth as possible, we thought it best to share these new guidelines with you now. As you know, the mission of the TSA Secure Flight program is to enhance the security of domestic and international commercial air travel. Under the New TSA Secure Flight Final Rule, all airlines are required to request, collect, and send to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) the following Secure Flight Passenger Data (SFPD):
- Full name, as it appears on a government-issued I.D. approved for use when traveling
- Date of birth
- Gender
Redress Number (if applicable)
As of September 15, 2010, per the new TSA initiative, if you have not provided the required information to the airlines you are traveling with, you will be asked to see a security agent before being allowed to proceed through the security checking area. In an effort to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience to all our clients, we are asking that you forward these guidelines to all your employees and reply back to us by Aug 22nd, confirming that all interested parties within your company have been notified.
